Now if i thought any of you are stupid i would not bother to discuss or even debate in conversation with a group that i acknoledge as people that share in my interests and hobbies. Now does that make us all agree,no but it gives us comfort that we can talk and even debate on our every day...
Yes lead comes from the ground, so does oil, does not mean you should shatter it through your meat then hope it is not in there when u eat it. I my self cut my own meat and i still encounter fragments when dinning. So i am pretty certain a meat processor will definately miss some. I my self am...
My view of goverments acknowledgement of any changes in inviromental needs are always slow to change and always to late to stop the damage already done. This is mostly because we the people are slow or unwilling to lead change ourselves. What ever the cost to my generation is worth it so my...
Like it or not we all better get used to the idea of copper bullets for hunting. For one all goverments will make it law, two why whould you not to insure the well being of the young ones that we feed with the meet we shoot, its something i wish i have done a long time ago how about you. :)
Oldtrader3 i will agree with your statements for i too have learned the lessons of bullet performance over my 30 years of hunting. One is that cup and core bullets are most effective between 2000 and 2500 fps with out becoming shrapenal.A few eg: 160 grn from a 7mm at 40 yards,150 grn from a 303...
Shot this sucker @ 180 yards at a dead run with daughters 243 win. with a 58 hornaby bt and 48 grns of h-4831 sc. :) 8) http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/ab21 ... tekill.jpg
My own experience with the 257 wm and the 115 grn bt came with a broad side shot @ 150 yards , shot placement was perfect but the bullet exploded on impact. Deer did an 80 yard circle then died, impact side was a hamburger mess with no bullet penetration, just one huge bloody mess. I definitely...
I see the light BigBoreDan, me smart like tractor and bright like bulldozer.I was thinking something like the barnes mrx with the tungsten rear core, plus what i want and reality seem to be two different things all the time. This is what happens when you drink beer and reply on a forum, it is...
I truely believe once all north americans believe in the american way, the american family values of past, and hard work that built these nations, then will we be free and strong;as well as prosperous as these nations should be.
Here is my question to you all, looking to shoot a smoke pole, do not want to spend alot, want a heavier rifle in a modern configuration.I might even go with out scope. Thanks for any imput. 8)
My dad has one in 30-06,had since new, will group any offering any bullet company or reload i throw at it. i love that gun and some day hope to call it my own. :) 8)
I personally would like to see 105 grn 243,120 grn 257, 150 grn 303, and anything on the heavy side for all calibers. It just seems everybody trying to have the fastest bullet when it should be aiming for the best pass through of a animal, I know, i know these lighter stronger bullets do what...
Having fun and sharing the out doors is all good, thanks for sharing the story and pics for it should remind all that getting out and being with friends and family are way more important than bagging the big one.
This is going to be fun; even if a bullet had an infinite ballistic coefficient and retained its 3100 fps it will still take a half second to go 516 yards and will drop 4.9m or 16 feet, because all objects fall at 9.8m per sec unless it has wings or shot in the opposite direction than...
Has any one tried the e-tip with retumbo powder and what was the outcome with the 257 wm.Had some friends praise it with the 115 grn tsx.i was thinkin of buying a lb and trying it out. :) 8)
That sounds like a plan Stan,me and my crew in Dawson Creek have been using the old hot box alot lately so moose stakes it will be. 8) :) thanks for sharing Mike.
