OK, I went out yesterday with the new Tikka T3 300 WSM. After Shooting one shot then clean, shoot, clean etc.... For 20 rounds and not seeing any copper fouling I fired a nice 3 shot group. The 2 flyers were from the last 2 rounds for breaking in and sighting in the scope. What a nice shooter...
Thanks guys, That is just what I was looking for. As this is my first large bore Brand New rifle, (don't laugh), I want to do it right the first time. I did find the twist rate and soon I will start doing some test loads to find out what it really likes.
With a 1/11 twist and a 24 inch barrel...
Thanks, but I decided I had to get rid of it as I found out it had a bore not quite centered and a little oblong. GS said he would give me a break on labor to make it right. Yea right. Do not have RK gunsmith from Nampa build you a bolt rifle. Water under the bridge.
JD338 nice rifle and great...
I am wondering what the proper procedure is for breaking in a New barrel. I am shooting a New Tikka T3 Lite in 300WSM. Also since it did not come with much info, does anyone know what the factory barrel twist is?
Thanks a bunch in advance.

My 280 AI has a Shilin barrel with a 1 in 9 twist rate. Question, what weight range in bullets should it shoot better? Not real happy with the 140 BT in this rifle so far. They shot nice in the one that was stolen last year but not in this one. Should I go to 150/160 or go down to 120 in the BT...
My 8mm Bertheir Lebel has knocked the crap out of countless Deer since brought into my family in the 1920's. Never failed to put them down on the spot. 8)
Nosler3, that is all fine and good and correct. I do have an issue with what the shipping charge is from the pro-shop. Say I want to get seconds on the 7mm 140gr BT for the listed price of 9.99$ I go to check out and notice the 11.95$ shipping via UPS ground. I see a link that said to change...
Shooters Pro shop Is selling them on EBAY also. Funny how I cant get and have been watching for months for 8mm BT seconds and they have always been "out of stock" On the Nosler site. But, I can get them on EBAY, New seconds in 8mm.......hmmmmmm.
