My 280 AI has a Shilin barrel with a 1 in 9 twist rate. Question, what weight range in bullets should it shoot better? Not real happy with the 140 BT in this rifle so far. They shot nice in the one that was stolen last year but not in this one. Should I go to 150/160 or go down to 120 in the BT?

Thanks!

Wboo,

I have a Hart #5 24" flutted in 280AI on a blueprinted 700 action.
The twist is 1:9. Mine shoots the 120 gr BT, 140 gr AB and the 160 gr AB well under .5 MOA.

Thanks, but I decided I had to get rid of it as I found out it had a bore not quite centered and a little oblong. GS said he would give me a break on labor to make it right. Yea right. Do not have RK gunsmith from Nampa build you a bolt rifle. Water under the bridge.
JD338 nice rifle and great groups.

Its gone now and I now have a Nice NEW Tikka T3 Lite in 300WSM

Nice!

The 180 gr AB is a nice match for the 300 WSM and you can hunt mice to moose with a single load.
