Virtually all the Weatherby Mark V rifles are designed with long throats and guys get them to shoot all the time. My buddy has a Mark V that he loads bullets .250" off the rifling. That's a full 1/4" off and the rifle shoots just fine and is more than accurate enough for hunting.
I have a custom .308Win rifle that I was testing loads using a 165 AccuBond. At one point I loaded to the maximum magazine length and noticed that it was .165" off the rifling. Oddly enough, it proved to be the most accurate OAL for that bullet, in that rifle.
