    6.5 JDJ Range Report

    yep JD, you will be pleasantly surprised at the results. The 6.5JDJ does far more than the case should. I've taken several deer and coyotes with ground hog and prairee dogs thrown in for grins. I even let youngsters shoot it. Mine has a bipod ,so recoil is no problem.

    7mmMauser = .280Rem

    I have the 7-08, 7x57,280 and the 7x30! Had a 7MagREM and a couple wikdcats also! Within 100 yards even the 7T/CU is a proven deer killer.When you stretch the range is when the larger capacity cases come into play.The 7x57 is downloaded for the older actions and rated for the 46,000 psi...

    7x30 blues!

    Sorry about being away so long. I removed the Simmons scope and mounted my 2.5x8 Leupold on the barrel. Using the same ammo as before I got sub MOA 5 shot groups from the gun! Using a few other loads I consistently got inch or less groups. Of course I used sand bags as a rest. The barrel that...

    280 questions

    I have used the 120 and 140 grain bullets for deer and ground hog in several 7mm's.7x30 ,7=08 and the 280 Remington,They(120's) can be a little explosive on close shots.The 140's seem to be a little more accurate for long shots.

    Best cold weather 6mm Rem load?

    I used IMR4350 in my 6mm's with great success. I have some XMR 4350 on hand and loaded some of that in...

    What scope for varmit hunting?

    depending on YOUR style of hunting as to scope selection. I use dot reticles,AND crosshairs .For a light weight carry gun I usually scope it with a 2x7 or 3x9 scope.Shots may be close and fast! For the times I want to sit back and relax I use a straight 20x or a 6x20 variable. Sit this on a...

    7x30 blues!

    :cry: I went to the range today with my 7x30 Contender,14" & 2x7 scope. I tried a handload and a factory load.The handload used Sierra's 130 SSSP bullet and a charge of 748 powder. Factory ammo is loaded with a 120 flatpoint. The factory load shot under 2 inches,and also higher on the target in...
