I usually anneal all of my cases to avoid problems such as neck splitting in the future. However, I’m going to be fire forming some brass for the Roberts Improved. I know that annealing softens the brass to make it more flexible, but it also takes away some of the strength from the brass. Should...
Is there any news on Nosler adding any different cartridges to their brass line up?
I personally would love to see 222 Rem, 6mm, 257 Roberts, 25-06! Mos importantly, 257 Ackley brass!
What cartridges would you like to see?
I don't shot a 358 Win, but i know my Father and Uncle did! My Uncle had a M88 Winchester, and my Father had a M99 Savage! I'm not sure about the powder they used, but I'm pretty sure it was IMR4895! I do, however, know the bullet they used! It was a 200 Sierra Round Nose! As the story goes they...

I have some experience with reguard to the 117 grain Sirrra Pro Hunters! They shoot amazing for me out of my M77 257 Bob Ultra Light! However, just last season I took a 10 point, and the bullet never really expanded! The shot was about 40 yards, right behind the shoulder, and the bullet hit both...
Thanks for the advise guys!!! I plan on just seating the bullets well into the lands and going that route! I have some 100grain Speer HP that have just been sitting around for years! With the blunt ogive; I don't think i'll have a problem with making good contact!!!
I feel the same way you do...
Hi guys,
I just got a 257AI! Any advise on fire forming brass? This is my first time doing this, and I plan on using the directions given in the Nosler Reloading manual!
How were your results?
Are there any better methods?
I've read a lot about what Jack O'Conner and P.O. Ackley have stated about barrel lenght and its relation on velocity. What I understand is you only need a barrel long enough to contain all the burned powder. For example, if you use a fast burning powder such as 4895 or varget you can get away...
I may catch some heat for this, but the 257 would be ideal for you! Because you could easily expand your some of your son's 6mm brass to 257. However, the only problem is that (as far as i know) only Ruger produces them. I'd give a close look at a 243. In my experience there's little difference...
Hey guys, this is my first post! As my name implies, I love the 257 Roberts. I own 4 including a M 70 featherweight, M77 ultra light, M77 standard, Ruger No. 1 Standard. I also just ordered a Ruger Hawkeye 257 Roberts.
I just got my pre-64 M 70 rebarrel to 257 AI by Shilen. I plan on working...
