I killed a Kodiak brown bear with a Model 70 358 Norma Mag. Used a 225gr Swift A-Frame bullet.

Good shooting and I am as well a big fan of the 7mm WSM. My Montana is my go-to rifle anymore and goes on pretty much all of my hunts. I also had good results with 160gr Accubonds and RL-22 in mine, but the Swift SI 2 bullet is what I prefer to use due to speed and accuracy.

I got the DC590 bou tag this year for the Talkeetna mtns. Flying in with Meekin's at the end of August in one of his cubs. Will look for a griz and black bear as well.

Yep, thinking 358 STA territory. Loaded with a 225gr Accubond and it will make a great bear rifle. I'll go with a pacnor stainless #3 at 24".

I load these for my brother in his Ruger 280 rem. He has taken two caribou with those bullets the past two years and got exits on both animals.

I finally scored some of these locally. Been looking since the BSB came out. I'm going to load some up and try them in my 1-7" AR this weekend. Is it confirmed these will work in a 1-14" twist barrel? Regardless, I'm going to load up a few to try in my 22-250.

I got a lot of hunting to do this fall. Starting off with a fly-out sheep hunt in 3 weeks. After that hunt, going to come home re-pack/clean gear and then head back out for some caribou hunting and early grizz.

88 grains of RL25 and a 200gr LRX bullet works really well for me in terms of accuracy and on game.

Agreed on the Swift's SI 2 liking a big jump. Every rifle I've tried them in I got good accuracy. I always start off by seating them long and then just seat them deeper and deeper until I find the sweet spot.

I think a 150gr Partition would be just about perfect.

I killed a brown bear with this bullet a few years back with my 300 RUM. Ended up taking a frontal shot on the bear and hit him directly in the chest at about 15 yards. The 180gr SI 2 bullet penetrated the bear full-length and exited, dropping him on the spot. 3250 fps muzzle velocity.

Congrats on the moose tag. What draw hunt did you get? I haven't got a moose tag in a long time and never got a cow tag. I did get my unit 13 caribou tag though and am looking forward to that hunt.

Anyone here have this manual? I looked everywhere locally for one to no avail. I don't want to purchase it online unless the cartridges I use are in there. Is the 7mm WSM listed? If so, any Alliant powders that they used? Especially RL25 and or RL22?

How much powder you going to add to get 3100 fps with the 280 AI?

I'd check gunbroker. There ain't many floating around and those that are available are expensive.

I found best results with 40-grain Nosler ballistic tips at warp 9. Mine is 1-14" twist as well (for now), but it's a FN Winchester.
