I am curious which hunts everybody is going to try to go on in 2005. The hunts I will attempt to get this year are Bull Elk, Antelope, Mule Deer and if I can swing it--bear! The hunts in New Mexico are almost all draws this year. :x

What is everybody else going to try hunt this year?

Well Ron, besides hunting deer, bear, and hogs here in California I will be coming back to your home state of New Mexico again this fall.

Last fall three of us hunted with the V-7 ranch near Raton for antelope and had a great time. The country is interesting, the Whittington Center is right next door, and we shot some very good antelope. We have booked for another hunt this year.

New Mexico hunting has been good for me. I have hunted elk over near the Jicarilla Indian Reservation and done real well.

Getting tags has not been a problem as these have been on landowner tags, but the out of state price for the license is a little steep.

Well, I'm new to this forum, but here go's
I am going to get the Sportsman package again this year. This includes an Elk, Deer, Beer, Couger, and Turkey tag. An Oregon waterfowl and upland game stamp. My hunting/fishing license, and a salmon/halibut tag.

I'll put in for an eastern oregon controlled buck deer tag. I'll also draw for a controlled antlerless elk permit. Plus, an extra antlerless deer tag.

I obviously like eating game!

I guess I'll be busy,

I too will buy the sports pack again. Not sure why, I guess I just like to give money away.

Hunts I will apply for:
Buck rifle-Silvies

Doe-Silver Lake, Very low chance of getting, I just do it for the points so that some day I can get one close to home.

Bull- ?, a bunch of college buddies want to go to Idaho. If I do that I will go general season in Oregon too.

The last couple years I have done a turkey hunt in Northern Cal. Hopefully it will work out again this year.

But right now its prime winter steelhead time on the Rogue

Well, I plan to do a little wolf calling here pretty soon, then in August, a short sheep hunt, mabe look for a moose..then in October, I am doing a Brown bear hunt on the Peninsula. Can't wait for that hunt, been planning it for several years!

I live in Colorado. I'll be hunting Colorado deer and elk. Also antelope in Wyoming, and hogs, nilgai, and javelina in far south Texas.
