10 shot load development

Heres the ladder at 300 yards with the 7-300 and 180g ELDMs with H1000. Ended up going with 72.5g. Shes a shooter for sure.

This has my interest but I don’t understand how it corrects for ES between identical loads.

I load 3 shot groups in .5 increments to start, sometimes these groups have single digits ES and sometimes there will be extreme ES spreads of 20-30 fps.

Seems that extreme spread between identical leadings would skew the results of this 10 shot deal

That's the trouble I've had with this method. There has to be low Es for a single shot to show what you want. So, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. My 6.5-300 Weatherby is one place where it didn't. The flat spot wasn't flat when I reshot it just for my own sanity. I've found this particular cartridge to be touchy to load for so I wasn't that surprised.

It is just a ladder test, with measured velocity being more accurate than vertical dispersion.

I now treat it as just one more tool in the box.
