Went and shot the 270 at 300 yards today getting ready for the antelope trip this weekend, turned out alright.
The lowest shot was out of a cold clean bore then the next three grouped above.
Load is 59.2gr H4831 140 AB loaded as long as the magazine in my Tikka will allow.
If I miss anything I don't think I can blame the gun  . Measurements are center to center.

Nothing wrong with that 300 yard group. It should mean antelope on the ground. Good luck on your hunt.

thanks, seeing them won't be a problem, getting close enough might be an issue. Last year they got jumpy at 450 yards every time.

I use just a bit lighter load of H4831 for 2 of our 270's. Works great with the 140 AccuBond. Good luck and remember Pics so we can enjoy the hunt too.

I chrono'd them this morning and on a nice and cool 40* morning they were doing 2950ish. Not to bad for a standard caliber.

You are golden. Good luck on your speed goat hunt.

That is a great group for 300 yards. That is some great speed out of them also. Should be a good lope load or heck, about anything else too! Scotty

Good luck on your speed-goat hunt.
You're correct - no excuses on anything inside 300yds - nicely done.

I take it you did not recover any?

The only AB I ever recovered was a 160 gr from a 7mm rem mag. It hit a buck facing on in the neck and took out about 16" of spine. Looked textbook perfect.

Didn't get much for pictures, got on the last minute of the trip and had to get back on the road. I'll find one eventually.

No bullet recovery, imagine that.
