I agree with Jim, but I also wouldn’t be scared to bump 1/2 grain at a time to that 2300 territory to see if it still shoots. If not, you know where to go back to for accuracy.

When looking at Hodgdon’s 30-30 load data for Leverevolution , it list a 24” barrel. I know it was slower than what I was expecting out of my Savage 30-30 , again my 20” barrel might have contributed to that.

Disappointing to not get the velocity you want. You could continue to slowly work up or just hunt as is. It'll still wallop anything you need it too.

I currently shoot the 160 grain FTXs out of my 20” model 94 carbine, and I’m getting an ave of 2350 fps with 36 grains of Leverevolution. I think that is where my disappointment comes from.
I’ve tried the Barnes 150 grain TSX also with Leverevolution, and they were at 2211.7 fps with 34.5 grains of powder. Not considerably more than the Monoflex, but also ten grains heavier.
I couldn’t get the Barnes didn’t group as well as the Monoflex have.
Being monos I would like to get them shooting as fast, and as accurately as possible if I can.
According to Alan Griffith, from Barnes, “150 gr TSX FN FB will hit full, double diameter expansion down to an impact velocity of 1600 fps.”
I’ll have to contact Hornady, and see what they have to say about impact velocity, and the Monoflex.
I would love to have confidence out to 150 yds with my 94, and with them opening up.
With the current velocity of 2188.6, according to my ballistic calculator, the velocity at 150 yds. would be 1785fps at 150 yds, and approximately 1664 fps at 200 yds.
If they open like the TSXs, then I would be theoretically good out to 200 yds.
If they open like the TSXs….
YES , for sure . a guy can slowly add powder and watch for pressure , and velocity . just stop at the first pressure signs . don't be blinded by the velocity you're trying to get .

I had loads up to 36 grains, (36.1 being max) and after the 34.5 load things started opening up.
I’ve sent a message to Hornady about the minimum velocity and opening up of their Monoflex.
I’m considering trying shooting 34.5-36 again to see if it was me and not the load, but I think I’m going to wait on Hornady to reply first.
Worst case is I hunt with the 34.5 load and make sure I keep it at 100 yds or less.

you might have already said this , but I'll ask again .
was this new , unfired brass ? usually new unfired brass , has a slower velocity , compared to fired brass that has been properly resized . I doubt you get 150FPS difference , but there will be a difference . I use Norma brass in my one 7mm-08 . the difference between unfired , and fired brass is a lot . off the top of my head , I "THINK" it's about 80 - 100 FPS . just something to keep in mind while you are looking for more velocity .

Actually it was new brass.
I am using Starline.
I’ll have to try some fired brass, thank you for the tip!
