,,, a .30-06 with a little ol' 165 gr bullet. Pretty darned impressive for what many would call a "deer rifle." I'm impressed! ,,,,
i think a 30/06 is fine caliber for a big ol' moose ,, even with a 165gr bullet ,, as we all know shot placement is the key ingredient :wink:

The 165 grain AB is more than adequate for moose. Actually, we don't consider it strictly a deer bullet. It is a fine all-around bullet, loaded by many of the locals for the 300 WSM and 300 WM.
Don't see why you shouldn't have moose in NM. They'd do well in the mountains. Any fish and game clubs wanting to sponsor a capture and transfer? :roll:
