I recovered the first Partition bullet ever last weekend. It was a 180gr .308 cal fired out of a 300 win mag. It was a fed premium load. The shot was high in shoulder at 300 yards. The bullet was just under the hide of the far side. It looked exactly like it should have, just like your pictures. My buddy has been using this load with the 180gr partitions for just about everything alaska has to offer including brown bear. Keep up the good work. I'll try to get a pic, and wieght of the bullet and post it here too.

bear,

Congratulations on your Moose. It sounds like your season is off to a great start.
Looking forward to any pictures you can share.

It was a meat bull that my buddy shot. He has been shooting the same Ruger 77 with swarski 1.5-6x scope with federal premium 180gr partitions for the last 15+ years, killed just about everything with them. It was his bullet I recovered will cutting it up. We are heading up to the north slope in a few days for two weeks after carabou/brown bear, and if we tag down we'll go for moose too.

Congratulations and thanks for the report. Hope my Federal 30-06 High Energy 180-gr. Partitions @ 2,890 fps perform similarly.

Steve

bear,

Thanks for the clearification.
The 180 gr PT is a good one. What are you going to use for your hunt?
Good luck on your hunt and don't forget the camera.

I'll be using either my 375 H&H with 260gr Accubonds or 9.3x62 with 286gr Partitions. My dad will be using his 7mm rem with 160gr Accubonds. I'll probably end up using the 375 H&H because it has a definate edge on the 9.3 in range.
