180gr Swift A Frame in 300 WM

I have an ample supply 180gr Swift A Frame for my 300 Win Mag for moose season. I have IMR 4350 and Reloader 22 powder for reloading !

Not specifically with the 180 A-Frame but my old buddy uses 72 grains of 4350 with ABs and PTs. Shoots so darned good. I know I always look there first after seeing how his shoots.

Christensen Mesa 300 win mag 180 Partition rl 22 75.5 grains, 2984 avg in 24” tube. I usually just stick with h1000 as I have way more of that powder than the other. Really happy with accuracy. Standard coal. Hard to beat in my set up. Good luck with the moose.

Any recipe with IMR4350 has the potential to be special.

It's one of two powders that if the sky fell and i could only have two powders on my bench it would be Winchester 760 and IMR 4350.

IMR4350 isn't the fastest..but more times than not it yields excellent accuracy.

It's also the least fussy powder I have found.

In other words...
grab some brass, FL size, trim if needed, clean pockets, prime, charge with powder right from book data, seat to listed COAL from a book...

That will yield more accurate loads than most all without messing with ogive jump, shoulder bumps, neck turning, etc...

Simple load and go right out the book...

IMR 4350 is tough to beat for simplicity and acceptable accuracy

good luck on the moose hunt

R22 with 180 should provide a good accurate and fast load somewhere between 74-76 grs. (75-75.5 is often a good spot) work up.

IMR4350 and 70-72 grs should also be a good area. Guessing it ll be slightly slower fps wise than R22 but should provide good accuracy.

Good luck.
