Here are a couple of pictures of my Senior year class trip, well, the one I took with my pop's. We traveled cross country with a van and a trailer (insulated for meat). It was my pop, his friend, my grandfather, and myself. We made the trek from Upstate NY to Ft. St John BC. It was an awesome trip, took the whole Northern route and crossed into Canada right around Banff. We hunted with Christina Falls Outfitters who was owned and operated by Darwin Watson, but I think he has moved on to the Yukon now. I had a moose and caribou tag, and my old man had a moose and elk tag.

Here are the pictures of my moose. It was 46" wide, and 12x12 I believe. It has been awhile. I used my one and only big game rifle at the time, it was my trusty M70 7mm Rem Mag w/ handload of CCI250's, WW cases, 160gr Barnes X. I had a 4X Redfield on the rifle. I shot it all Summer at woodchucks and pretty much anything other varmint that would stick around long enough for me to get a shot off!

Here is a picture of the group who made the trip with us. I believe this picture was taken somewhere around Banff. My Uncle, who was also in the picture, drove up from Minnesota and saw the sights with us until we got to Ft St John.

It was one of the best experiences I ever had. I took the whole first month off of my senior year. I prepped with my upcoming teachers and asked for studies in advance and they were good with that. The old days, if I tried doing that now, I would be in the pen! Anyhow, found these old pictures and put them up in reloading room and figure you all would want to see them. If you ever get the chance to go to BC, GO! It is some of the most game abundant area I have ever seen! Scotty

Scotty,

Cool trip!
Nice looking bull moose. Congratulations.

Ah, yes. 1995. It was a good year. I made the drive from the Vancouver area to Chicken Creek off the Alaska Highway, and then drove back to Taylor Flats to hunt grizzly and black bear the year previous. Then, I drove up to Nevis Creek that fall. The following year I drove up again. It was the beginning of a love affair with this area. Great pictures, Scotty.

Thanks Mike and Jim, I cannot wait to get back up to that area or really anywhere in BC. Even Vancouver Island is pretty awesome. Love Northern Canada. Would like to get into the Yukon one of these years! Scotty

I missed these pictures before.
That is cool Scott!

Big bears, huge mt lions, deer and elk! Sounds like a paradise island to me!

Thanks Pop. One of the best experiences ever for me. Scotty

Sweet Scotty -
I have yet to experience BC for hunting, only work so far. That is where I want to go to hunt stone sheep.

Looks like you had some pretty good luck. That is some good looking country. I'm working on a trip to AK next fall with a good friend of mine. He has a raft and we are going to do a nine day float. Hoping I can find a good moose as well.

I be those photos brought back a lot of memories, Scotty! I was married with a 1 yr old child in 1995. He graduates HS in 2012. How time flies!!

All I can say is this. If any of you all can get to Northern Canada, GO! It is some of the most awesome game country in the world. I want to push into the Yukon one of these years. Scotty
