That's what I'm thinking. I have the original 64 gr load to fall back on so I might as well keep playing with seating depth.

I think your very close. You'll probably see that 3rd shot walking in as you go. With a rifle shooting that consistently across the board I couldn't hold myself back from trying.

I've had at least 5 different loads developed for this rifle but none of them were all that impressive in my mind. I figured it's time to do a full on development instead of accepting the first sub moa group. Makes for a good winter project. I appreciate the input SJB!

You've got a great load right there. It looks very consistent even with your last two. I'm betting it'll come together real quick for you.

65.5 gr and another quarter turn. Looks pretty good to me! I'm tempted to go another quarter turn, but on the other hand this group is plenty good for my hunting.

Haven't bought my chrono yet. I'll let ya know when my tax return comes in. Haha.

Since you need your tax return to buy a chrono, I'll try to hurry up and send the IRS more money so they can get yours back (y) (y)

Your load is very good for hunting, or for about anything else. You might make it tighter, but you're now finessing what is near perfection.

Man, I'm behind on this but WOW! Great shooting. I just knew it was going to come together for you. That is excellent.

I'd bet your in the 2800-2900 range right now with that load.

My M70 300WSM was in the in the 2850'ish range with that load..

Also, I wouldn't be scared to take it another 1/4 turn. Might as well see what happens. If it opens up you know you've got a good load.

Again great shooting and an awesome example of how to stay after it. That's an elks nightmare right there!

Thanks for the quick load! I think I'm gonna leave well enough alone. This load is plenty good for my needs! Time play with 95 btips in my .243. Thanks again guys

No worries. I don't blame you at all. I'd be all smiles with a load like that.

Well I finally bought my magneto speed and tried it out today. This load is doing 2787 with an ES of 27. With a goal of 2800 Im pretty happy with where I'm at.

You're running a superb hunting bullet at about 2800 fps with accuracy that makes you happy. When ya stop and think about it, there are few types of big game that can't be handled, and handled well, by a good .30 cal hunting bullet at that velocity... Just a little more than a .30-06, and not enough to over-stress a good 200 gr bullet...

I think you're set! Good work. (y)

Thanks guy! That was the plan. Have a bullet and load that would easily handle anything in North America I want to hunt.

Superb! Did you take note of the temperature when you shot that last group? R19 has a very narrow window of Temperature stability. For example, and this was just in my rifle and in a 338WM, ok? It was a compressed load and I lost almost 200fps with the old Barnes 185XLC from 55 deg ( range) down to 10deg ( five days before my late cow elk hunt). Granted, that's almost 50 degrees of swing (sounds like a Jazz record huh? ha) but my groups went from tiny to about 4.5". I pulled the remainder, worked up a load with H4350 and groups shrank right back and I killed my cow elk. When you get your chrono you can keep up with this sort of thing, but it will show up in your accuracy if there is much change. Now, in a 240W I used R19 exclusively and never had an issue with it. Not trying to "spook you", ha, but its worth keeping an eye on it. If you hunt when your temps are the same or very close to your load workup its no sweat, and you can always tweak your load during the year, take note, and load for that temperature, its really that simple. Good luck as your rifle and your benchrest technique is doing "exceptionally well"!

It was about 40 degrees yesterday while I was shooting so probably with in 10-15 degrees of typical hunting conditions. Thank you for the heads up, that's something I will definitely keep an eye on.
