The big Remington is an excellent, and grossly underrated, cartridge. It still requires a hunter to tag his elk. That is a fine-looking animal.

Congratulations! That's a good looking bull, and I know they can be tough to come by.

I remember years ago thinking a 7mm mag for mule deer, coupled with the 8mm mag for elk, might make a perfect combination...

Of course a guy could just ignore the 7 if he had a good shooting 8mm...

Thanks, Ia very pleased with him and am quite sure he will eat very well. I too always wanted and 8mm and finally just broke down and bought one, glad I did as it's a neat round or atleast I think so.

That is my opinion also, especially any branched bull!
