A couple of guys on here have inspired me to take more and better photos while out hunting so I thought I would share a few. These are the Blue Mountains in the South eastern corner of Washington state:

This is the canyon I shot my elk in last year, down in the burnt trees almost directly down where I was at here:

My Guy inspired photo:

The herd of elk we saw on opening morning all passed over the top of this finger we were on and followed the top of the rock vain in the middle of the photo to the next finger.

Lovely country. You did an excellent job taking us with you on this hunt. Thanks!

Wow! Nice photos. I like that country...

I think I see a Hoochie Mama call? My wife cracked up when I showed her my "hoochie mama" - absolutely laughed herself silly.

You did see a Hoochie Mamma caller. And after three years I actually got to see it work it was awsome. Saw the heard come over the hill in the first canyon shown and started calling. THey stopped and started calling back and after a few minutes turned down hill into the trees towards me and got to withing 300 yards and crossed over the finger.

Thanks for the compliments. I have a ways to go to catch up to you and your photos though.

Great pics, and story to go with them Corey. I would be looking for a skyhook if my elk was very far down that hill

These photo essays you fellas put together let us be there with you. Thanks!

Awesome pictures Corey. Man, that is some very open country.

Is that a picture of your 300RUM? Scotty

Yes it is the 300 RUM. The south facing slopes have no trees and the north facing slopes have trees very interesting area.

Great pics. When I saw the big R on your hat , right away I thought " this is remington country" lol.

Excellent work, Corey! I love all of these great photos and I really like the one of your rifle laying on the pack. Great perspective and use of depth of field!

I can look at pictures like that for hours! Just bring out the hunting albums. I sure wish I would have started keeping better track at a much younger age, but live and learn! :p

Just to mention that we have an issue with the Japanese Pine Beetle in Washington. You can see in Guy's pictures the dead and burned Lodgepole pine. Washington has nearly 3 million acres of dead lodgepole pine and ponderosa from the beatle. It is a real fire hazard in the summer when dry lightning starts fires. Several hundred thousand acres of trees have burned nearly every year.

Donna and I were at Lake Chelan 2-1/2 years ago and the fire burned right down to the Lady of the Lake Ferry Landing on the north end of the lake and nearly burned the landing, store, historic museum and restaurant at Stehekin, WA. The one fire was started by dry lightning and another by an illegal campfire. The entire 60 mile long lake was engulfed in really heavy smoke for days.
