Guy, I have had my mounts often take longer than what the taxidermist had promised in one case I was promised 3 months delivery on a mule deer and it took over a year to get it.

My euro whitetail was quick.
My nephew just received his buck mount from last fall. Taxidermist is from Zanesville and really makes a big deal of hustling up young folks mounts. He also did a terrific job.

I did this Euro mount for my son's buck this year. It was my first attempt and I'd do it again. This took me a week of time and maybe 12 hours of work to accomplish. The longest part was the boiling. I can't find the pics of the horns sticking out of the steaming pot.

The European mounts looks great too. I did mine this fall myself as well. It really is an easy process, but boiling the skull outside really got the neighbors dogs in an uproar... Smelled like I was cooking a roast!

I love having the mounts on the wall. There are many times when my wife and the children are in bed and I just sit there staring at the mounts reliving each of the hunts.

Me too Gerry, I don't hunt much anymore but I can look at the heads and remember the hunts in every detail!

6x7 bull I took on November 10th. I will take a better picture when I get it hung up properly. A lot has happened since then to now and haven't been on here much. In fact, I moved out of my house exactly a month after the elk was taken. Things should be looking up in about 3 weeks. I'm excited to see what this monster looks like on the wall. Hopefully the picture will be posted this week.
