2012 Oregon Blacktail & Rocky Mountain Elk

Pictures from this years' hunts in Oregon. The first is a Southern Oregon blacktail deer, shot at 75 yards, using 165 grain Sierra GameKing hand-loads over 54.3 grains of IMR 4350.

The second, is from a Northeastern Oregon, spike-only hunt, for Rocky Mountain elk. Shot at 200 yards with a .300 RUM using 180 grain Barnes TSX hand-loads over 90.0 grains of RL 25.

Congratulations on the fine animals. A spike bull is about the best there is too eat, at least for me. :)

He sure had some spikes on him too! Very nice.
