I know it's pretty early to start a discussion about a '16 hunt. If all even goes half a$$ well this season, I think I'll take a go at a elk cow hunt next year. (meat in the freezer out weights bone on the wall (pun intended)).

Has to be a public land hunt.....

With zero points anywhere, any suggestions as to where to apply?

Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho is where I'd be looking.

Never too early to plan another hunt  . I know this one that I am going on starting next Friday has been in the making at least in my mind for a number of years and this year it fell into place .
gerry & I talked again last night about the conversion of DrMike, we are both quite sure that it will be a easy transition .

Don't bet on it. :p

A guy on Long Range Hunting posted a hunt for cow elk in WY with over the counter tags. It was 100% success so far for a 3 day cow elk hunt. 1500.00

Man that is a great success rate. The 1500.00 would be too expensive for my budget but I am not sure of the going rate for these kinds of hunts.
My out of province Moose tag is $250.00 Canadian EY  and then another 75.00 for the habitat fees.
In my opinion that is very reasonable.

Blessings,
Dan

That is a guided hunt and you'd have to add the price of a tag to that. For a DIY hunt it would be just the cost of the tag.

Not I.
I got talked out of hunting the northwest coastal states. :)

Nobody even considering Oregon as an option??

Sadly Oregon does not offer over the counter cow tags. Only over the counter tags are Coast bull, Cascade bull or one of the few general season super crowded spike hunts.
