2021 Hunting Pictures

My spike elk on the game trailer I built. Used my 300RUM w/200gn ABs. The game trailer worked great with one minor design flaw, which has now been fixed. The trip from camp to where I shot was a 12 mile round trip.

My daughter texted me this picture yesterday morning of her black bear. I couldn’t get off work to go up to the camp w/her her uncles were there to help get him out. She said he was quartering and the bullet entered a few inches behind his right shoulder and exited through his left shoulder, and he went straight down. The 140 Partition from her 7-08 doesn’t disappoint. He appears to have been eating well.. Guess I’ll get to head up to camp Tuesday when I’m off.

Nice, fat fall bear your daughter has taken. Congratulations for the good work on her part.

And a handsome buck he is. He'll provide some excellent table fare. Congratulations.

I shot this 9 pt 11/1 with the xbow at 10 yards. He was coming in to check his scrape line.

Yes sir. They can get big here. I took out both lungs and a good slice in the heart with the Muzzy fixed blade. Exit was in the armpit.
He went 150 yards! They can be tough.

Sunday was a day of firsts, first time I carried my own start to finish reloads for the 7mm, and the first time I was able to drag a deer out of the woods…. Also the first time I had to gut one out….. thanks JD338 for the tutorial and not laughing too terribly much. Lol.

Nicely done! You rolled your own loads featuring the 140 gr BT. Made a perfect shot and know where he went down. The blood trail was pretty easy to follow too. Glad it all worked out well for you.
Congratulations on your buck!

Excellent series of posts. You had an excellent teacher in JD338, and it shows. Beautiful picture of your deer.
