I'm cosidering adding a .204 ruger to my safe. What I want is a rifle that I can view bullet strike through the scope(For sage rat shooting). What weight rifle will do this for me? I'm considering the Ruger Predator or do I move up to the MarkII target model at 10+lbs? Thanks for your input!

You should be able to see "Red Mist" through the scope on a 8 lb 204 Ruger.
I have twice seen red mist through my M700 VLS 22-250 with 50 gr BT's. The rifle weighs 11 lbs.

I can watch the bullet strike from my .204 CZ 527 - which only weighs about 8 lbs.
One of the cool things about the .204 Ruger! They do a bang-up job on varmints too - that's a V or funnel shaped exit on the rockchuck...
