Went out this frosty morning with no wind and enjoyed testing both my Tikka T3 .223 and .22-250, comparing Nosler BT, Sierra HPBTMK, and Hornady V-Max.

Nosler 55gr BT were excellent at 24.5gr AR2208/Varget in the .223 Rem.

But I was stoked to see this result in my .22-250 using 37.5gr AR2208/Varget...with my little finger nail as reference to size. Am yet to measure with vernier but would pick it at 7mm.
Didn't have a chrony but little 40gr pills are doing well over 4000fps.

Was gong shooting in stiff crosswind out to 400yards a couple of weeks ago with it too, with no misses, but using only 36gr powder doing around 3900fps.

I'm looking forward to Spring and attempting to shoot Fallow and Sika deer in the eye at up to 200m.

Looks to be some fine work on your part. That is moving the pill down the pike!

Your test results in .22-250 with 37.5gr AR2208/Varget are quite impressive, especially when you mention the small bullet size (approximately 7mm) and the bullet velocity up to 4000fps with 40gr bullets.
I appreciate your love of the profession and passion for the experience!

The .22-250 Remington and Varget are made for each other! My own Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .22-250 flings the 55 grain Sierra Gameking to 3650 fps from its 22” sporter barrel propelled by Varget. I’ve used this load primarily for chucks and coyotes but would not be afraid to use it for deer or antelope inside of 250 yards.
