.22 Hornet

Snowshoe Hunter

Great little round with the 50 gr BT, perfect for Bobcats. Would also be a great little round for calling coyotes in after dark, IF IT WERE LEGAL HERE IN MI.

Where are you located in the UP. My bride is from Moran on the eastern end.

I don't use mag primers; in fact, I'm loading mine with winchester small pistol primers. 12-13 grains Lil' Gun should get you where you want to be with 45 grain bullets. I'd pick the 40 ballistic tip over the 50 grainer, if it was me, due to the lower velocity design of the hornet and better expansion with the smaller bullets. That is why you find "hornet" sp and hp bullets in the 40-45 grain range. A lot of people really like the 35 V-max also, but I would use a 45 sp for less explosiveness and speed on bobcat and fox.
