220 swift

My buddy got a new 220 swift varmint fluted ss 700 26" barrel 1.14 twist

Where should we start my uncle recomended 4350 and 50 gr bullets I also have some 4831 as noslers book shows a laod for it and I dont have much other use for that powder

anyone got a pet load or suggestion

IMR-4064 and the swift go real good together...

Thats what I used in my ruger target model. I was getting 3925fps w/55g NBT's and around .5 MOA.

4350 and 4831 can work, but they aren't the best powders for the swift, and are actually better used with 55g bullets or larger.

I did try the 4831 load in the nosler manual, however it was 100-150fps slower then 4064 and grouped just a little bigger then 4064.

I also used H-380 for 40g Barnes VLC's at blistering speeds of 4550fps and .75" groups. Talk about red mist!!!
