222 Remington : How far off from the lands ?

Loading for the best accuracy....

My rifle is a single shot break-open kind (K95 Blaser) therefore I could go as long as I wanted (no magazine issues).

What do you Guys think is the best OAL in this caliber ?

I am particularly interested in using 50 grains BT, 52 grains A-Max and Sierra MK...

With any of the three bullets you list, almost kissing the lands will likely yield the best accuracy. I would load them to 0.005 inches off the lands and see what they do. Chances are quite good that they will perform well at that length.

Here's a (bad) picture of what the free boring=0 for this bullet looks like :




I have drawn a line to show the bullet's base.
Do you think there's enough part of the bullets engaged in the neck, considering I am going to push it back further in by the suggested 0,005" ?
