223 vs.22-250

is there really any difference in these to rounds when ranges are kept under 400 yards for prairie dogs and coyotes.
 
Absolutely.... I've had both for years..... actually IMO you cross that 250yrd line the 22-250 will really start to shine over the .223
 
+1 to what Powerstroke said.
If you are going to shoot a lot of P dogs, the 223 will run cooler than the 22-250. For coyotes, the 22-250 really shines both near and far.

That is what I got! A 223 Olympic Arms AR 15
And a Remington 22-250.
 
If you can swing it do both. I have a .223 in an AR, and a 22-250 in a Rem 700. If you can only do one hands down go with the 22-250. you can get alot more FPS out of them, and they are very accurate.
