Could I impose on one of you to run out a quick load on the .244 Rem with the 90gr AccuBond? I've got all my supplies together to load up some stuff for the 740 remington.

I don't have Quickload Bruce but from my loading the 6mm Reminton / .244 Remington, IMR4350 worked very well as would H4350 I imagine. I played only a bit with H4831SC but quickly found a good group with it with about the same velocity as the IMR4350 load. It shot equally as well. My son's 6mm we are using H100V with it under 90 gr. E-tips.

I think the 90 gr. Accubonds will work very well for you. They are a great little bullet and sure held together in my water expansion tests.

Hope this helps.

I assume you mistyped IMR4451 for IMR4350?? I added the last chart as IMR4350 because I had good success with it in the past when I used to have the .244 Rem. It has the 1 in 12 twist and stabilizes bullets lighter than 80 grains. I personally never used 90 grains, but the 90 AB is a great bullet.

Thank you for the data. I didn't mistype, it is imr 4451. New powder from IMR.

IF it is a 12 twist it will NOT shoot the 90AB. Even a 10 twist is marginal in cold temps and the 9 twist is optimum.

Will also NOT shoot 85 Partition in cold temps.

Will shoot the 80 BT in mild conditions but just barely.

The 70 BT or the Sierra 80 "Pro Hunter" will strike matches!

IF it is a 12 twist.

I have found JBM's twist calculator as posted above to be excellent in dealing with plastic tip or non plastic tip bullets stability.

The 90gr will be my first stab at a loed. I've got a bunch of them. The 740 is a 1 in 12 twist
We'll find out shortly if they'll group in the rifle. i've also got lighter bullets in the cabinet.
