i use the hornady 120gr HP and the nosler 110 AccuBond in both my 25/06s, i'm wanting to try one of the paritions out. use will be on whitetail, mule deer and antelope. i get 3300-3350 with most 100gr loads and 3050-3100 with the 120s. i'm leaning towards the 100 parition. comments please??

The 100 gr PT will kill like lighting and usually give you an exit.

The 100g PT is all you will need for deer/lope size critters from the 25.

I haven't used it extensively, but have a fair amount of experience with the 25-06 and a lot of bullets.

I have actually only 1 recorded kill with the 100g PT from my 25-06 and that was a cow elk my sister shot at about 300 yards. She was hit the first time in the shoulder, went up the hill little ways, stood opposite side of what she was the first time, my sister hit her the 2nd time in that shoulder as well. The elk went just a few yards and was still standing so I told her to shoot again. The 3rd bullet went behind the shoulder. Upon gutting/skinning those 100g PT's did a massive amount of damage to the shoulders, and went about 3/4 of the way through the elk, I found the bullets in the offside shoulders. The elk was pretty much standing dead after the 1st shot, but we have a saying around our elk camp and thats keep shooting them till there down, no matter what caliber your using. They only find the deepest darkest canyon to run to and that doesn't make things very fun where I hunt... I was very surprised those little 100g PT's did that kinda damage and penetrated as far as they did considering the heavy shoulder bones they crushed through. I am a firm believer in 115-120g bullets for bears/elk size critters in the 25-06, but I didn't have any and didn't want to buy any when I had 2 boxes of 100g PT's sitting in front of me. I figured with the construction of the PT, they would get the job done on cow elk if we did ours with shot placement. Were they the best bullet for the job? Probly not, did they work, yes they did. I know if I were to stick a 115g PT in there, they probly woulda exited or came really really close. I mean the SD on a 100g bullet is just barely high enough to be considered a deer bullet, let alone a elk bullet.

To make a long story longer, the 100g PT will kill deer/lope like hammer of thor. Load them to 3300-3350fps and there good to 500 yards. I wouldn't worry about them not exiting from about any angle on deer/lope size critters.

I think the 115g would be better suited for bears/elk, little bigger game. That is unless you have some humongous bucks, then you might give a little more thought to the 115g PT.

Either one though will easily do what you ask of it. They are a good bullet and they get the job done when you do your job.

I guess I would have to recommend the 100 grain Partition. I have shot a mess of wild hogs with that bullet in my 25-06 as have my buddies.

We used to have LOTS of hogs around here and we tried lots of bullets and loads on them. I shot several with the 115 Partition and I personally do not feel it dropped them on the spot as well as the 100 grain version.
(Just an opinion, they all died, but the 100 grain seems to put them on the ground quicker.)

I have shot a number of antelope with the 100 grain Partition and it just simply works.

The 100 grain Partition just seems to kill better than one might think considering its diameter and weight.

I would go with the 115 Nosler Partition. You get the best of both worlds. 49 grs IMR 4350 or 52 grs H-4831 has been very accurate in many rifles and is a very good deer killer and would be on about anything you slip it into the heart lung area of.
