25-06 and RL -15

critterskinner

Welcome to the forum. The 25-06 does well with slower powders. Take a look at RL 22, RL 25, and Retumbo.

Don't leave IMR7828ssc off the list. The 4350's and 4831's were standby powders for years in the 25-06. They still work very well, but the "newer" slower powders have made some cartridges better than ever, the 25-06 being one such cartridge.

You can do a lot better with the powders that JD suggested.

Cartridge : .25-06 Rem.
Bullet : .257, 110, Nosler AccuBond 53742
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.250 inch or 82.55 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch or 609.6 mm
Powder : Alliant Reloder-15

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 3.0% of nominal charge.

So are you guys suggesting that I not use RL 15?

Correct, don't use RL 15. Start with RL 25 and don't look back. You will be a happy shooter.

You can use it, but you will gain about 100-150fps if you use RL-22, rl25, 7828, h1000, or retumbo.

If you dont really care about the velocity then its no big deal, it will still by all means "work".

25-06 is not a picky caliber. Let us know how it works if you decide to use it.
