I am very excited about the introduction of Winchester's new 325WSM, and even more excited about the introduction of Nosler's 8mm 200gr AccuBond. According to Winchester, the 325 WSM was designed to duplicate the ballistics of the 338 Win Mag in a short action platform. They have apparently been quite successful in accomplishing this with 200 and 220 grain bullets. However, the big advantage of the 338, at least in my opinion, is the availability of 250 grain bullets. How feasible would it be to design a 250 grain 8mm bullet to compensate for this? A Partition would be ideal, as it wouldn't intrude as far into the Short Mag's short case, but I wouldn't be offended by an AccuBond or a Fail Safe either!!

It would not be feasible at all. The 220 grain mark is about max for the 8mm (325 WSM). Anything after that takes up way too much capacity to be worthwhile. This is expressly the reason why Winchester went with a 8mm and not a 338.

Remember the 8mm/220gr is not that far away from the 338/250 gr.

OK, if not for the Short Mag, They would be great for the 8mm Remington Mag. I still think Nosler should make them. Probably not likely considering the popularity of the 8mm Remington, but hey it'd be great if they did!
