Who shoots the 257 Bob? I have a M700 Classic in 257 Roberts that shoots lights out with the 100 gr BT or PT and a MAX load of IMR 4350. Accuracy is between .5-.6".
The 110 gr AB likes 48.0 grs RL 22 for a vel of 2974 fps with an ES of 16 and a SD of 8. Accuracy is in the .7's.
The 115 gr BT uses a MAX load of IMR 4350 and shoots in the .7's.

Just curious what your loads are.

I have a ruger rifle and a pistol barrel for my T/C Encore. I use H-414 with 100gr bullets(BT or PAR). It does best over my chrono and is accurate.

JD, I have the same rifle. A Leupold 6x sits on top of it. Mine shoots too well with the old 117gr Sierra and H-4831sc. Currently its loaded with 110 Accubonds with Reloder 22 at 3050 fps. I've never been able to get mine to shoot as well with 100s as with the 115-117gr bullets. Even the 110 AccuBond doesn't shoot as well but we're splitting hairs there. This has been my "fun" rifle since I got it in 1982. I sure wish I had the change in my pocket to get one of those limited edition CDLs. Man they look sharp, and in the short action too. Remington didn't cut the freebore long enough in the 700 classic to really do any good.

Morning JD,

I got a std bob and an Imp'vd bob. Like yours, it shoots 100gr BT's lights out. I have only used that bullet and H4350 is my pwdr of choice in that case. I running both near max.

The std bob is a 77R MKII and the Imp'vd is a 700 with a 23" #5 shilen on it. Awesome dual purpose rifles.. My daughter shot her 1st deer with it last yr, 204 yrds and DRT!

I got a heck off a supply of 115 & 120 PTs I picked up bout 15 yrs ago for 7$ a box I have yet to try, but you could say I have plenty of deer bullets.

If I ran across a early 700 Classic Ltd in the Bob, I'd be in a big qaundry with my wife.

I shoot the improved version. I am getting great results from Ramshot Magnum with a Magnum primer, and 120 gr. Partitions.

100gr BTs in front of a load of IMR-4064. I have an old Ruger light weight. Use it as a loaner for youth hunts and some friends wifes have used it to take a fair number of whitetails, good caliber.Rick.

JD - One of my favorite calibers!! I have three; new Ruger Hawkeye that I just started working loads up for, 2009 CDL Limited (still in the box) and a model 70 in the Ackley version. The Ackley is the one used for most of my deer hunting, using the 110 AB behind a hefty charge of R19. This groups between .4 to .7 MOA depending on how I'm shooting that day. The only reason it isn't taken on most mountain hunts is the weight. This caliber has been lost on some of the younger hunters and shooters, but is very versitle from varmints to large deer. With some of the new bullets made today, it is a even a marginal elk rifle.

Someone needs to pick up the CDL that is on Bivwak. Most I have seen in stores are going for well over $900. The only reason mine is still in the box is that I want it new for a grandson/daughter when they start deer hunting.

The M700 CDL is a real sweetheart.
