I have a Wby MK V in 257 Wby. I'm going to shoot 110 Accubonds w/7828 & R25 in both Wby & Hornady brass. My question is does anyone have experience with this cartridge and can they recommend an OAL starting point using this bullet?
Thanks.
Regards,
Scott

Hey Scott, welcome to the best forum on the net! I have a .257 bee and it loves 110g Accubonds seated on top of RL22 @ 3.160. I tried seating them at book listed max and found ZERO accuarcy. It may just be my gun but when I seated them deeper i get 5/8" groups on a regular basis. I tried IMR7828 and ran into pressure signs @ 70 grains and the accuracy wasn't what I had hoped for. Let us all know how your gun likes them.

I use this and it works very well: seat the bullet just deep enough that it will fit in the magazine without the tip of the bullet hanging up. The same COL works with all the bullets I load for this rifle.
The entire cartridge is 3.48" from base to the white tip of the AccuBond.
I know some barrels are picky about how close the bullets are to the lans and groves. I have never had a 3-shot groups that didn't shoot under an inch at 100yds with this .257 Wby.

As FOTIS says: 3.250" OAL for 110ABs, and I found that for 100 BTs as well.

3.235" was on first try with 110 AB, 5/8" groups no sweat, again I am one person that has never worried about spotting the bullet any particular distance from the lands.
