Think I'm about where I want to be.

Came in right at 2880-2900 fps.avg 2890.
Tried a couple seating depths but not much difference.

It appears to be performing quite well, Dewey. Interesting cartridge.

Good point.
I clicked it over for the next one.

Dr Mike,
It intrigued me which is why I built it. Seems to match a 6.5-284 pretty closely with a little less powder. Fun rifle to shoot also. No recoil really.

That's what I love about my 7mm-08. A 140 Partition at 2900 ft/sec has very little recoil but will kill anything I'm likely to shoot.

Good point, I'll be interested to shoot a deer with these and see on game performance. I think those long pencils (140 AB) should be pretty terrific.

The 260 AI has always been interesting to me. Looks like yours is doing quite well.

That is a damn fine group, you'll kill all day long with that.
Man, I sure hope so. Thanks!

It's a cool little cartridge. Easy to load for thus far. I've shot RL 15, and 17, and H4831 SC through it with pretty good results from all of them. Recoil is pretty nonexistent so it's pleasant to shoot. I was messing with four rifles when I shot this one, a 6.5-06 AI, a 338-06, a 9.3-62 and this one. The others bump you a little so this was an easy cartridge and rifle to shoot.
I will say the Nosler brass fireformed really easy and well for this and seems to be performing well.

That's a cool rifle and it seems like a real shooter!

Those smaller 6.5mm's are awesome performers.

That will make a great hunting load. It sure is nice to work with an accurate and low recoiling cartridge.

DWH7271,
Great shooting! I have a Creedmoor and am enjoying it very much. The small 6.5s perform way above their weight class. What led you to use 215Ms for your loads?

I can't believe there's much of a difference between your .260 and my 7mm. I've killed a few deer, one antelope, and one elk with mine. They all died quickly and completely. You have all the gun you need.

Looking good Dewey.
Post a picture of a loaded round so we can all drool on our keyboards.

I had been using some BR2s and had a couple thousand of the Federals laying around and was getting good results and wondered, hmmm, what if I..... , and stuck the 210Ms in six of them to see if I could find a difference. Just plain curiousity I guess. No valid reason other than that. I shoot literally in my front yard so changing something if the press is set for that cartridge is no big deal. Walk in, hit the ChargeMaster and load a few and go shoot em.

Here are some before and afters of both the 260 AI and 6.5-06 AI from a week or so ago. Not the same bullets as I am using now. These were loaded just to get on target but they'll show you the difference. I don't have a loaded pic but will take one this evening.

Pharmseller,
I agree. They should work well.

The rifles.
6.5-06 AI on top, 260 AI on bottom.(cigar underneath  )

EDIT: NOTE! I messed up on the primer number. They were 210M not 215s as originally posted. My mistake, sorry!
