Made it out to the range this morning before it was too hot (84) and windy (5-12mph). I wanted to see how my gun performed with a cold and just cleaned bore so I set up my steel at 909 yards and dialed in 6.6 MILS of elevation and held about .9 MILS of wind and touched it off. First round is the one low left in the picture, next round is to the right of that one and the 3rd is right and above. I was very pleased! And the tape roll was the only thing I could find that I had with me that I knew was one inch....

Next I had 2 loads using the Berger 140 VLD Hunting. Both were using 44.2 grains of H4350 with a cci 200 primer. The first load was jammed in the lands and it wasn't very impressive. The second load is jumping about .01" and it is one I will be loading more of and doing some further testing! It is pictured below. Range was 328 yards and the wind was 5-7mph from left to right. Not sure on velocity but the same load with the 140 Amax is 2758fps so I would guess it's right around there.

All shooting was done prone of a bipod and rear sack. All in all it was a very fun and rewarding morning! Here's a pic of the range from the 1000 yard line.

Awesome shooting! That is a fine load you have worked out there. I am impressed with a .5 MOA at those distances.

This is amazing to see. What's the power of your scope? I need a spotting scope just to see an elephant that far out. Now hitting it once I saw it, I would put the money on the elephant.
I'm doing good to hit a milk jug at 400.

It's a 6.5-20 Leupold. I'm hoping that VLD load proves itself....I can't wait to load some more of those up and go stretch them out!

I've got one of those on my 264 but for me it's over scoped for what I'm capable of. You're doing good.

A fine load, without question, and some excellent riflery. Congratulations on a fine performance.
