264 win mag

Bill,

Scotty should be along shortly.
I seem to recall he has a pretty good load for the 140 gr BT with RL 25.

Jim I have a good load with 140 AccuBond and 140 berger hybrids using retumbo. I'm just curious about magnum in a 264.

I tried Magnum a few times but couldn't get much for accuracy with it. I know others have tried Magnum with success so it would be worth a try.

Never tried Magnum. Heard it was a good one. I used 22, 25, Retumbo, 7828, and H1000. RL25 just won out for me cause of accuracy, but I would imagine Magnum would work as good as any of the others.

This was a load work up in a Win model 70 with 26" barrel.

I used this powder in a 24' barrel M70. I worked up to 70 gr. and got 3050 fps but this rifle has a slow barrel and will digest more powder without showing any pressure signs.
I did get around 1" groups with 68 gr. but fps was 2950.

Tjay thanks for the info. I will give that load a go and see how my rifle likes it.

Dang, 3240 is pretty quick in a 264.. Hard to beat that sorta speed in a 264 Win Mag. Especially if it doesn't stretch primer pockets.
