264 WM/120g NBT water jug results

Should be a great combo. I used the 115g NBT at 3200fps from 25-06s over the years to take a few deer and black bear out to 600 yards, so I dont see them being a problem one bit. Hopefully the girlfriend can put the 120g NBT to a black bear this fall, we'll see.

I haven't put anythign through this other then a few 95g vmax, a box of 140g amax (all to no avail) a few 100g nbts and the rest have been 120g Nbts. Around 200 rounds I'd say through it by now and half of those were trying to get the 140 amax to shoot. Really thinking about rebarreling to a 28" pacnor, but since I have a sendero 7 RUM, I dont really need a super LR 264. The 264 will serve as my main coyote rifle for the time being so it will get fed 100g and 120g nbts untill I shoot the barrel out in a couple or few years, then I'll rebarrel to a 8 twist/ 28" stainless 3 groove, 5R, pacnor.

I was going to buy a bag of the 140g AB 2nds, but I chickened out thinking they wouldn't shoot worth a hoot like the 140 amax either. And since this isn't a big big game rifle, I dont really need to shoot a 140g bonded bullet at anything, NBTs work beautifully for what I'm using and wanting to do with the rifle right now.

I am using H4831sc, but I have H4350, H1000, RL25, and Retumbo sitting on the shelf. My accuracy load with the 120s is only 3200fps from the 24" bbl using 64g of 4831sc. It shoots 2" at 300 yards very consistently so I haven't bothered to try any other powders yet. I would like to try some of the slower powders and try to squeeze another 100fps and get up to 3300fps and keep the same accuracy, but with the 24" bbl not to sure if those slower powders are going to help me much.

My uncle also has a Rem 700 BDL stainless/synthetic (older ones) in .300 Win that he said he would sell me for $275. So at that price, I cant pass it up, its still a great rifle even though he thinks the barrel is shot out, I told him theres no way as much as he shoots it, but he ended up buying the same rifle, just found one with 7 shells through it, ok with me!! I dont really need another magnum, but I was thinking of a 375 Ruger or 416 Rem Mag build for a elk/bear thumper since I have the 264 Win and 7 RUM covered for the lighter, longer range stuff.

With my Remington 264 all I ever use for deer hunting is 100 gr btips
from 75 to 200 yards all the deer I have shot was DRT not one step
all were shot between the shoulder & spine no meat loss that way.

The 120 gr BT is my go to bullet in .264 Win Mag loaded to about 3225 FPS. I have taken several Antelope from a couple hundred yds to a little over 500 Yds performance has been perfect. I did have complete penetration at 500 yds on Antelope & DRT. I plan to use this bullet in Montana Mule Deer hunting this fall. I just finished rebuilding this rifle & have it set up to shoot to 700 yds.

I have smacked a truckload of antelope with that bullet from the 264 mag sendero at 3400 fps. Never ever recovered one!

I might have to give the 120 gr BT a try out of my 6.5mm RM on a deer. The 130 gr AB works really well.

Never tried the 120, but I gotta think at 3400 it would be FEARSOME on deer and antelope out of the 264. Heck, I can't wait to try the 140 BT this Fall. It runs nearly 3200 in my 264 and that has gotta have alot of swat on deer.

Just returned from MT. .264 120gr BT worked perfect a one shot kill at around 200 yds on moving Mule Deer entered about 8 inches behind left side ribs & exited front right shoulder. I would guess about 24 inches of penetration. Deer ran about 40 to 50 yds. I would use this bullet on Deer again. I shoot Model 70 .264 Win Mag at 3225 FPS,
