Going to the range tomorrow and would like to also try the 100 gr Partition in my 264 WM. Anyone load that bullet with RL 22 and RL 25? I have data for other powders but would like to give either of those a whirl first. Thanks.

Never loaded them, Gerry; but here are some QL projections that may be helpful.

Ouch! A 100 Grain Partition going 3,500 fps is pretty serious! I shoot an 85 Grain at 3,250 out of my 243 and that is serious. Drops deer lights out, even taken an elk with it.
I would be interested to see how this turns out!

Thanks Mike, there isn't a lot of difference between the two so I'll try RL 22 first. Retumbo and IMR 7828 ssc look very good as well but I am going to save those for the 120 gr E Tip's that are on order right now.

I bought these 100 gr PT's for my 260 Rem but the gun doesn't like them, should be fun to try them at 3500 fps+ in the 264. Talk about a flat shooting deer load

Which 85 gr?

The 100 gr PT at 3500 fps is smokin'.
I would lean towards the 125 gr PT myself in the 264 Win Mag.

Me too, but I'm going to try them anyway

I killed a bunch of lopers with the 120 BT's at 3400 fps.

The 125gr accounted for my biggest one ever out of my 264 super grade at 3350 fps with RL25. 503 yards.

Went to the range today but forgot my handloads  probably was a good thing though, today was mild but very dark and foggy, the Chrony hardly worked at all.

Shot up my remaining factory ammo though to get brass, the W-W 140 gr ammo averaged 3073 fps and with the R-P 140 gr CL the one shot that recorded was 3007 fps. Hope to get out again tomorrow afternoon and test out the RL 22/100 gr PT loads, hopefully the light will be better.

I'd be very interested in that too Gerry. Man, that 100 PT at 3500 would make one SCREAMING deer load. Wow. I wonder how they would shoot in mine. Talk about mimicking a 257 Wby.. That would be danged cool..

Alright, I am headed to the basement and rescoping the 264. Might have to take it out for a test run..

In a 26" Douglas barrel I got the following over my Oehler Chrono at 20' using the 100gr PAR and Fed 215 or Win mag primers in 5 shot groups.
Magpro-75.8gr-3703FPS- SD32
H1000-77gr-3749FPS-SD16
Win760-62gr-3548FPS-SD14
Win780-68.5gr-33562FPS-SD26
H3841-69gr-3547FPS-SD12
IMR7828SSC-69gr-3650FPS-SD25
RL25-71gr-3581FPS-sd40
Win760-63.5gr-3667FPS-SD17--Slightly sticky bolt

I think I will use the 125gr PAR in the 264Win mag and save the 100gr bullets for the 6.5X55

Great data Divernhunter. That's pretty danged awesome. 3700 with that 100 PT would be some kind of dynamite on deer. Very cool stuff right there.

My Chrony wouldn't work at all with the 264 WM today so I don't have much to share with the poor light it is very had to get readings. The loads had some muzzle flash and mild recoil anyway. I stopped at 68.5 gr of RL 22 which is 1 gr above Nosler's max but quite a bit lower than the Quickload data above, I'll go a bit higher slowly and hope for good light next weekend.

How was the accuracy? Seems like it has to be in the 3500 range. Talk about no holdover out to 400! That's a laser beam.

Honestly the 67.5 gr group was about 3/4" but the 68.5 gr group was an awful 4" this gun sometimes drives me crazy most groups are very good but too often it will throw a stinker, it did the same yesterday, 3 excellent groups and a real stinker. While it could be me I doubt it since I was concentrating just as hard on every group. I like the 264 WM a lot but this may get the 277 Benchmark screwed on soon and become a 270 Bee, then it may go up for sale and a new MRC 264 WM may make an appearance.

Those MRCs are very nice Gerry. I've looked pretty hard at them. I'd have a hard time not giving one a chance if I succumb to getting another 300 magnum.

I've never shot much but the 130 AB, and 140's from mine. Might have to try a 120 of some sort. It has the speed to make them work I think.
