First shot with a cold barrel looks perfect. My M70 featherweight did that as the barrel heated up. My stock pushed in from the left side, moving POI to the right like yours as the barrel heated up. I moved mine to a Bell and Carlson stock, problem solved.

But yours is already in a B&C stock, as that's what Nosler uses. I would check with a dollar bill that there's nothing pushing/touching the barrel. If it's free floated, I would send it to Nosler to have them look at it.

I guess you could wait for the factory ammo to arrive and re-check it. There was a really good article in the Hodgdon annual loading manual a couple years ago on loading for the Nosler 26. The only thing I remember about it was that the Nosler 26 was a little tricky to load for, definitely liked some powders over others and I think you are using one of the preferred powders. Add to that the AB bullet is more finicky than a traditional cup and core bullet and I could see that it might be frustrating to put together a good load.

If you haven't tried an ordinary BT or Sierra cup and core bullet, I would try that. However, based on your other thread, I know you've tried a bunch of things already and are probably at the end of your rope with this gun. The barrel life on a Nosler 26 isn't long, it'd be a shame to shoot up a barrel just trying to find out if the thing even works as advertised. I know you're hesitant to send it in to Nosler, but that's just what I'd do at this point. Bret

If it is shotgunning like that I'd send it back Derek. That is pretty poor for any sorta decently crafted ammo.

Derek,

That looks close to a horizontal string. Could it be that scope has something loose internally? If all your groups look like this and the first shot hits dead center with subsequent shots spraying right yet relatively level, then it might be a stock-to-barrel issue?

Has all your groups looked like this? Might not be a bad idea to mount a scope you have that you know is good and check it out.

Good luck......

I was about to ask the same questions so I'll add a question. Are you checking for and adjusting for parallax?

Yes this shot group happens everytime i thought it was a scope issue sent it to vortex they daid its good sent it back had the same problems soni sent it back again they sent me a new scope and still haveing the same results.

Sounds like you have more than covered your bases. I would call Nosler and tell them what is going on and all that you have tried. I could not imagine they would not want to check the rifle out to eliminate some issue with the rifle.

Yea i morethen likely will be

Well if I read all you post correctly you've tried factory ammo, hand loads, new scope, checked all mounting screws ect.. shipping or selling is about all you have left. I would be pizzed beyond belief if it was mine. IMO no sense in continuing to poor time and money down the drain, not to mention frustration. Some times things get out of the factory that shouldn't have, this may be one of them.

Yea that is tottaly true and yea im not a happy camper about it at all. Its very frustrating paying this much and it not shooting at all.

No one ever wants to have to use a companies warranty because it's a PITA but in all fairness give Nosler a chance to check it out and make things right. At the very least you'll save some money by not trying to make it shoot when it seems it won't do so and you'll know what Nosler finds, if anything.

Yea very true ill give them a call tomorrow and get it in the mail

IMO I think you are doing what sadly needs to be done. I believe you will be happier in the end by taking this route because I don't see Nosler being happy that one of their signature rifle is a lemon, but it happens. Keep us posted.

So figured out the cause of my problems i went and bought a new scope for a bday gift and was installing the old scope and rings on a different rifle here my rings had a slight crack in them so in return was not holding the scope well nosler rifle shoots awesome now and only reason i seen the crack was one of the mounts actually broke when tighting to a different rifle thanks for everyones help it was appreicated.

That is excellent Derek. Man, what a relief it is to find a small problem like that. Trust me when I have had the same thing happen to me from the smallest of things.

Glad you got it sorted out though. Sounds like it is shooting the way it is supposed to now.

That is awesome news, glad you got it figured out. Just goes to show that even when you check things out and things seem ok there still can be an unseen issue that won't completely rear it's head until more drastic measures are taken.

Here are pictures of the rings#1 is the broken one #2 is the one starting to crack
