270 for elk

this year i killed a 4 point bull with my 270 in the east fort rock paulina unit i loaded 58 grains of 4831 sc and 150 grain ballistic tips

My friend Chet and I were driving down the road and seen something in a field of sage brush so we stoped to see what it was so wepulled out the 12x50 binoculars and looked and it was elk so we found a road that cut across to a big hill and parked the truck behind it. Then we set of for a easly 1 mile stock that took 2 hours we got within 150-200 yards they bedded down in brush that was 3 feet tall. Ihad a Primos mouth reed call so i put that in my mouth and the 4 point stoud up and the first shot with the 30-06 hit him in the brisket and deflected up into his back then i shot him with the 270 win an inch above his spine then he went down we though it was over but he got up and started to run so i pulled up put it the crosshair on his shoulder and hit him an inch above his a-hole he kept on running like nothing happend so we tracked him a mile to the edge of a alfalfa field he ran across four of those itno a patch of sage brush where we found him 2miles away i whent walking out in the brush and he jumped up about 40 yards away and scared the crap out of me and i pulled up and i seen head ass head ass in the scope i waited for hair in the scop and pulled the trigger it was all over

i found three of the four, two nosler balistic tips and and federal somthing, they all mushroomed out good the balistic tip that hit his shoulder was almost flat and the one that hit him in the rear was, 1/2 of the bullet was mushroomed out the fourth was in the back of his head
