Good afternoon everyone, my name is Edgar Croce, I have a Ruger rifle No. 1B 270 Wby Mag, I got a box of bullets from Nosler Partition 160gr SSP story in my possession the following powders: IMR 7828, Norma MRP and VV N560. I have Prime CCI 250 LRM and LRM Winchester, Weatherby brass. I would give me a hand to recharge and get the best group for my rifle, is the first time that I will use this tip, which acquired wild bull hunting in my country. Thank you very much and I hope your answers. 8)

Edgar,

Welcome to the forum. You have a very fine rifle and an excellent cartridge. Nosler developed their loads for the 270 Wby with F215 primers, but either the CCI250 primers or the WLRM primers will work just ine, as will the LRM primers. Published data in the 6th edition of the Nosler Reloading Guide presents a maximum charge of IMR7828 as 70 grains, and a maximum charge of N560 as 69 grains. Remember to reduce your charge by 5% and carefully work up to maximum charge. The 160 grain Partition is an excellent bullet, so I doubt that you will be disappointed. You will likely be best advised to load to either SAAMI specifications (3.250 inches), or to the depth of the magazine. For MRP, QuickLoad generates a suggested maximum load of 66.5 grains.

Welcome to the forum, glad you found us here.
The 160 gr PT would be an excellent choice for the 270 Wby Mag.
You have some good loads listed and I'm sure a few more to follow shortly.

Thank you very much for your answers and for their welcome to the forum. I think I will begin to recharge with the 70 grain of IMR 7828, on the long OAL 3.250 ". It really since I have this caliber rifle and the only thing that has given me are satisfactions, I am a lover of this diameter but especially the big 270 Weatherby Magnum, I tell them I have several loads that are a hit with me, where I used Hornady Interlock 150 gr Spire Point, Nosler Partition 150gr, Sierra Pro Hunter 150gr, Nosler Ballistic Tip 130gr, and Combined Technology Ballistic Silvertip of 130gr.

I have 130gr bullets at a muzzle velocity of 3521 fps with a group of 654 "MOA at 100 yards, it's incredible what I shot with it. What I have never hunted, but I never took a step. As you say to left on his own tracks. The tips of 150g with an average velocity of 3285 fps to 3300 fps, obtaining similar to the previous groups.

To respond to Antelope_Sniper friend, the wild bulls that I caught were of average weight of 500 pounds, I caught with 150gr Nosler Partition, shooting averages 20 to 25 meters away. I want to experiment with new 160gr to study their behavior. Again very grateful.

Welcome to the forums.Good caliber choice.I have been shooting the 270 bee for a lot of years, but have never tried the 160 grain.Didn't figure that I needed them. I prefer the 130's and 140 grain Hornady boat tail over a stiff charge of either IMR 7828 or Reloader 22. Haven't found a critter yet that required a second one, elk included. Good luck on your trials.
