270 Win, 145gr ELDX..

Range day today.. Hornady 145 ELDX stacked on top on 58gr Norma MRP, Norma Brass, CCI 250 mag primers.. Rifle is a Weatherby Vanguard..Velocity average 3060.. no signs of over pressure, but I am sure these are MAX.. If I mess with the seating depth I am sure it will improve, but these are ready to hunt.

No doubt that load will work just fine. Any game you wish to hunt with that load is in trouble.

I will be taking this rifle and load combo to Colorado in 2 weeks as my back up to my 91 Mauser in 7.65. Hope to get a Muley buck with the 7.65. When we get back I plan on tweaking the 270 and trying to bust milk jugs at 600 and beyond. This bullet and the Nosler ABLR for the "Ol 270" really puts it back in the game to compete with some of the 6.5's in the long range category especially with some of the new powder offering, ie RL26, although Norma MRP has proven to me to be no slouch either. Nice that Nosler and Hornady stepped up and offered these bullets.
