I am playing around with the lehigh controlled chaos bullets.
Had a load with mrp tested. Not bad, but pressure is quite low (but consistend). It would be ok for my kind of hunting, but a bit more powder would not hurt. I know, not the best choice for light bullets, the 130 gr AB fits better - which is my second test.
What do you think - would it make sense to try magnum primers with the compressed load of rather slow powder?
Or would they push the bullet into the rifling before the powder really ignites, causing pressure- and other issues?
Thanks,
Frank

Frank: I have been using F215 magnum primers in my 270's for about 30 years. Win brass and RL22 powder, 130g ballistic tips, around 3200fps with 22 inch barrels. I feel that any load from 60g on up needs a magnum primer.

Waiting for a new base, then I'll test.
The original aluminum is crap, so I don't want to test with that one.
Will post pics of the targets...
