I can get H2O capacity of my once fired brass too if that would help..
Thanks

H2O capacity of a once fired neck sized brass is 70.1 grains.
Thanks
Ed

I opened QL and to my surprise,,,the ELD-X 145 grain you wanted to use is not listed there, its my newest version / update. Without the measurements of the actual bullet, unfortunately I cannot enter the data in a new file. If you can make measurements with the ELD bullet you have and write all the data down, then I can load the file into my QL and get your data you need. Look at the pic below and I need all the data , if you can provide them. Ignore the mm and gram data, it automatically updates when I type in the data in inches and grains.

I sent a request to Hornady for all the technical specs.. We will se what happens..
Thanks
Ed

I'd feel pretty comfortable using data for a 150 ABLR in order to get an idea of where to be. 5 grains won't make a heckuva difference in the overall data.

Hornady new #10 manual has 145gr ELD-X with their 140gr bullets but doesn't and doesn't have any of the powders list that you want data for.

I got a reply from Hornady tech, but the only info I got was Nominal length. I replied back with the snip of the QL data screen. Haven't heard back yet..
I did look thru the #10 manual while at Cabelas recently, they had the 145 ELDX with the same loads as the other 140 gr bullets.. Wonder if I could use the 140 gr SST as a sub for QL data???
Any thoughts?

I'd be just fine with doing that.

If some one could run the QL with the Hornady 140 Gr SST

I did look thru the #10 manual while at Cabelas recently, they had the 145 ELDX with the same loads as the other 140 gr bullets.. Wonder if I could use the 140 gr SST as a sub for QL data???
Any thoughts?
Ed

If you have the ELD-X 145 grain bullet ( your bullet of choice was edited earlier from ELD-X to SST ), just measure the length of the taper of the boat tail, the thinnest end of the boat tail and the thickest end, the length of the bullet, bullet weight, diameter and I can enter that data. I did that for the ELD-M 178 .308 and it came very close to what I was seeing on the targets and chrono.

Ok, when you say the thinnest and thickest end are you talking about the BT or the ogive taper?
Thanks for you help,
Ed

OK, went and did a bunch of measurements on the bullet..

.277 dia
1.375 OAL
145 gr
BT taper is .160, .235 at the base to .277 at the thickest
Ogive taper is .500, .130 to .277, not measuring the plastic tip.
Hopefully this will cover what you need.. if not I can measure some more..
Thanks
Ed
