I have tons of them but what has worked for you? 130 and 140 gr AB is what I am looking at

RL22 and Magpro! I doubt you will have to look further than those Fotis. I don't shoot much of the 130's or 140's anymore, but I have alot of confidence you could make them shoot with RL22 or Magpro buddy. If you wanna push to 150 BT or PT's, RL22 rocks. 3130 or so with them outta my rifle. Seems like RL25 will work really well too.

I would say good luck, but if your rifle didn't like about 72 grains of Magpro with about any 130, I would think there is something wrong with your rifle. You can make the 130's SCREAM with a full load of it.

No worries buddy. I gotta think you will have an easy day with it Fotis.

Are you thinking 130 AB's as well?

What scope did you put on it?

Redfield revenge 3x9x40.

Thinking 140 AB's at 3100-3200

My "go-to" load is 59.5 grains of RL17 behind a 130 grain E-Tip (velocity 3257 fps; 0.42 inches). It has worked very well on several moose and elk. I opted for this even over a 130 grain TSX charged with 72.5 grains of MagPro. The other load I would use were I to look would be 72.5 grains of H1000 behind a 140 grain Partition. Groups are 0.39 inches; velocity is 3244 fps.

Fotis,

That will be a flat liner for speed goats.

JD338

Fotis, those would be flat liners for almost any plains critter not just prairie goats
Maybe I should just quit dreaming of custom builts & purchase good factory rifles :?
Could maybe afford a few instead of just one:)
Blessings,
Dan

That's an interesting concept, Dan. Let me think about it.

Okay, I dismissed the thought. Stay the course. You've got some good ideas working for you.

My 140AB load is:
61.5gn RL19
Win nickle brass
GM215M
COL 2.875"
Avg velocity of 3018 fps

130ET
60.5gn of I-4350
Win nickle brass
GM215M
COL: 2.88" (another one of my rifles that liked the E-tip closer to the lands than an AB)
Avg velocity of 3341 fps.

Sorry, don't remember the group sizes nor do I have pics but obviously they were keepers, which was is a sub-moa requirement at 100yds for me.

Scotty is right on, Magpro and RL22 will let you know what your rifle is capable of with all bullet weights. I like RL19 a bit better with 130gr and Retumbo a bit better for 150gr bullets. I haven't worked RL17 in the 270WSM but it sure shines in the 300WSM and 300SAUM.

I shoot 71.0gr of Magpro with the 140gr AccuBond at just over 3200fps. With a B.C. of .496, that makes that load as flat as a 22-250 and more accurate than I can shoot. Once you shoot the 270WSM, you will be hooked. I've turned a lot of people onto the WSM's just by having them peek at my target at the range. If I work up another load for the 270WSM, I'll be looking at the 130gr E-Tip.

140gr Accubonds, Retumbo, Federal 215 primers. One rifle likes 71.0gr (Compressed Load), the other rifle (identical to the first) prefers 69.0grains. Both give me under 0.5" - 5 shot groups at 100 metres, around 3300 ft/sec. Been using this load since 2005.

MP, if I ever went to the 140 AB, Retumbo or RL25 would be tops on my list to try..

My load is the 130 AccuBond with 64.5 grs. of good old IMR 4350 with a Fed 215 primer. COL. 2.90 W/W brass. 3330 fps. Tikka T3 Lite. That's the max OAL my magazine will feed reliably. It shot 4" at 500 yds. with 3 shots during my sight in last week.
Good luck Fotis

Man, that is a screamer Greg.. Sounds like that rifle is ready for big time! Good luck. I love the 270WSM... One of the best there is.
