RL17
51.4—2922
51.7—2927
52.0—2913
52.3—2954
52.6—3008
52.9—2994
53.2—3045
53.5—3060
53.8—3067
54.1—3077

Kinda excited about this ladder.
53.5-54.1 is looking like a node
51.4-52.0 looks like a node.

RL-17 makes my 270 rock with 130 gr. bullets.
You have plenty of pressure headroom to increase the amount of RL-17 and perhaps going forward you will find the magic point of power and accuracy.

53.5 grains of H4350 squirts the 130 TTSX at 3050 fps from my Kimber Montana. I can get another 100 fps out of it, but the groups open up from sub half MOA to to 1.1 MOA

Took it out today with three test groups.
53.8 shot 3085, 3066 and 3100. SD 17, ES 34
Next one gets more interesting
54.1. Shot 3099,3100 and 3105, SD 2, ES 5
Next one right there
54.4 shot 3115, 3121, 3119. SD 3 and ES6

I don’t think I’ve ever had loads in the single digits for SD and ES.

That 54.1-54.4 looks like a node to me. Will push it a little more to see how that compares. 54.6

My TTSX are loaded to 3.217”
I’ll load up 54.4 to to see what I get with adjusting seating depth.

I did get 2# of RL17 at the LGS. Not at risk for developing a load I can’t make. And 200 LRP.
He opened a new brick.

So I measured distance to the lands with the TTSX and got 3.355”. My test loads were 3.217. Barnes recommends min 0.050” jump,
So I’d start at 3.305, 3.295 3.285, 3.275, 3.265, 3.255, which would cover 0.050-0.100” off lands, is there merit I going further? Trying to not run out of TTSX just as I get it dialed in…
I’d need another 9 bullets to keep stepping to my book load. Tempted to try 0.05, 6,7 in one trip and if the group needs more work, do 0.08,9,10, and so on…should have bought two boxes when I had the chance…

I think I would start at your COAL 3.217 length and work towards the 3.305 COAL.
you have a known at 3.217 try your increases from there and move out longer towards the .050 jump.
If I’m understanding you correctly

I’ve had good results following Barne’s recommended COAL. They list 3.210” for your combo. I would give that length a try before going thru your bullet supply.

What do the groups say?
3.217 is running about 1.25”. I’m about 0.140 off the lands. So long ways from the minimum recommended 0.050”

I’ll run up to the store tonight to see if I can pick up a box or two.

So since 54.1 and 54.4 had SD’s of 2&3, decided to Trt one more step,
Results from 54.7
3150
3135
3143
Ave 3142, SD 7 and ES 15

Will load up seating test at 54.4 RL17.

That's a nice consistent load. It would work quite well, I should think.

I agree with Mike. Looks to be a good load.

With Barnes bullets I typically start at 0.050 off the lands if magazine length allows. From there I can usually find a sub MOA load with a charge weight ladder without altering the seating depth.
