ive found that the federal fusion factory ammo in 140gr shoots very well in my m-70
when loading my own with rl-19 its showing promise but not quite there yet,, would maching the oal of the factory rounds be a good idea ???? i cant see it hurting anything,, factory ammo is grouping at about .5 at 100yrds

Matching factory OAL won't hurt, but it may not help. They are not necessary using a powder to which you have access and unless you are using Fusion bullets, the bearing surface, weight distribution, jacket thickness, etc. may introduce variables which preclude a similar result. If you have a load that is giving a good standard deviation (1% or less), focus on adjusting the OAL to maximise accuracy.

The OAL on my two Tikka T3 LS 270WSM's with 140gr Accubonds just fit inside the clip. A single sheet of paper is the only space. Right now cant remember but can look in my reloading diary.

My reloads definately shoot great and and the bullets are seated out quite a bit more the the factory WS 140gr AB's.

Right now I use ederal 215 primers and Retumbo for my choice of powder but 7828SSC, H1000 and Mag Pro would be others to try.

I seated both the 150gr BT and 150gr PT at factory SAAMI spec of 2.860 and get unreal accuracy. I don't find my 270WSM very picky with seating depths. I think you could give it a shot at the Fusion depth and if it does/doesn't work, at least you will know. Scotty

In my ruger im seating the AB to around .090 off the lands due to the magazine and am getting great accuracy, I tried loading longer and made it a single shot and groups got worse. Try H4831sc if groups dont get better, I had no luck at all with reloader 19 despite the crony telling me I had only 3 fps difference between 7 shots. 7828 worked very well for me also.

Love the 270wsm, not picky, very accurate caliber, a great one gun for the average man and average hunting life and never be sorry about that choice.
