277 150gr Ablr in 1-10 twist barrel?

Does anyone know for certain that the 150 gr AccuBond LR will stabilize in a 1-10 twist barrel. These are the main reason I went with 270 win for my light weight build and I want to be sure they will stabilize in the featherweight 1-10 barrel I have.

A buddy of mine couldn't get them to shoot in his remington 700 with factory 1-10 barrel. He is positive that they aren't stabilizing and need a fast twist barrel.

I'm wondering if that is the same reason that my 270 weatherby won't even try to shoot them. I shot my 140 AB load yesterday just to make sure it wasn't the gun. It wasn't.

Both my brother and I are running the 150gr LRAB out of 270WSM, 1-10twist barrels at 2000' above sea level and stabilizing them just fine. I have the 165gr matrix vlds out of my 1-10 twist barrel I doubt that they are not stabilizing from what I have experienced.

Try shootin at 200 yrds. I could not get any better than 1" @ 100 but moving out to 200 the group stayed @ 1" as well as 300 when I did my part. Thinkin about it the bullet needs more time to stabilze and the further out you go the more it stabilizes. Past 300 the group opens up but I'm sure that is me. Out to 500 I am sitting around a 4-5" group. This is out of a rem 700 with factory barrel 1:10

Same here, shooting them out of a 270WSM and a 1-10 rifle. My 200 yard groups are hovering around an inch. I haven't fired one closer than 200 yards yet, but I think there is alot of truth to what he says.

Don't a lot of the match guys accept an inch @ 100 yards and then go to 500 to see if it will shoot?

Next week I am going to start to play with 150gr. ABLRs in the 270win & also in the 270wsm. Anyone with load info please PM me. I have lots of IMR-4350 & RL-22 powder have some 4831sc as well.
So OAL & loads would be much appreciated.
Next few weeks I will be setting up my laptop in my man cave & working on loads & rifles.
Everyone waits until the last days :wink: not different then me :mrgreen:.

Dan, I can't really pass OAL lengths, but I ran RL25 in the WSM. 22 will work just fine for it though. I would start .040" off the rifling, in whatever rifle you are shooting though. I am around .060" off right now and stuff looks good.

H4831 and RL22 for that 270 Win should look really good for speeds.. I don't see you having many issues though.
