Hello,

I'm sure this has been asked before, so, how does this bullet perform out of an Ackley and is it fussing on bullet jump?

Thanks,

I ran them in mine for a while. Knocked down two big Idaho bucks with them. One at about 70 yards and one at 450 yards. Both dropped in their tracks. It has been my experience that they shoot just fine with jump. I was pushing them about 3050 fps out of my 24" barrel.

I went to the 168 in my 280 AI. They shot just a bit better and were only 100 fps slower.

My 7mm Express (has that long Remington throat they used back then) didn't care for the 150gr, but the 168 ABLR is the berries! 57gr R22 and I am making quite a bit of jump for 2750fps out of its 22" barrel. Now, sighted +1 high at 100 it is spot on at 200! I'm around 6000ft at my range where I tested this. I would think a proper 280 AI will do much better velocity wise! Heck, yours might eat those 150s like candy!

One of the 280AI we have was build couple years before SAAMI spec 280AI. Last year I shot few 150gr ABLR in that rifle. I had 2 bullet that shoot pretty good (150gr BT,150gr TSX) using H-4831sc. I was 50 thous off the land with Barnes and used that for the 150gr ABLR and it shot great also using H-4831sc. I didn't chronograph any of the loads and didn't do any more with that rifle, but it's going to be a winter project this year. I had Kreiger barrel put on it and been pretty easy to work up loads.
